§ 30-20. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Board means the city tree board.

    Park trees means those trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation located in public parks and other public places.

    Parking means that part of the street not covered by sidewalk and lying between the lot line and curbline, or on unpaved streets, that part of the street lying between the lot line and that portion of the street usually traveled by vehicular traffic.

    Street trees means those trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation located on the parking.

    Tree trimmer or tree surgeon means any person, firm or corporation, who solicits or performs the work of felling trees, or who cuts or trims any tree or limbs or branches of any tree, or who offers services in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of any tree, all for a valuable consideration.

    Trim in relation to branches means to remove dead and broken tree branches.
