§ 28-454. Location of containers.

  • Residential solid waste containers shall be stored upon the residential premises. Commercial establishment, and church solid waste containers shall be stored upon private property, unless the owner has been granted written permission from the city to use public property for such purposes. The storage site shall be well drained and fully accessible to collection equipment, public health personnel, and fire inspection personnel. Containers of residential solid wastes or recyclable materials which are awaiting collection shall be placed at the curb by the owner or occupant of the premises served on the day of collection. For purposes of this article, a day is defined as that period of time from sundown on the day preceding the collection until sundown of the day of collection. If required by council resolution, recyclable materials shall be placed at the curb separate from solid waste in a manner consistent with rules, and procedures adopted by the council. No solid waste or recyclable containers shall be placed within the limits of any street, alley or public way but shall be kept on the adjacent property.
