§ 26-225. Snow equipment required.

  • When conditions of snow or ice exist in the traffic surface of a snow route, no person shall drive a vehicle so as to impede or block traffic if the driving wheels of the vehicle are not equipped with snow tires, tire chains, limited-slip differential, four-wheel drive, or front-wheel drive. The term "snow tire," as used in this section, means tires designed for use when there are conditions of snow or ice on the highways, and meeting the requirements promulgated by rule of the state department of transportation. Any person charged with impeding or blocking traffic under this section shall have said charges dismissed upon a showing to the court that the vehicle was equipped with a limited-slip differential.
