§ 8-132. Appointment and powers of officers.

An ambulance services director shall be recommended by the board and appointed by the mayor and approved by the council. This appointment shall be made at the first regular council meeting of each even-numbered year. Vacancies or replacements for the director shall be appointed by the same procedure for the balance of the term. The ambulance director shall recommend to the board any other officers deemed necessary, and the board shall approve or disapprove said recommendations. The ambulance service shall be under the control and direction of the director, or, in the director's absence, the chair of the board.
