§ 8-20. Organization.

The department shall consist of the police chief and any other law enforcement officers and personnel, whether full- or part-time, as may be authorized by the council. The chief and any other officers shall also be referred to as peace officers or officers. The police chief shall be in command of all other officers authorized by the council.
