§ 4-67. Seizure and complaints; payment of expenses.

  • Animals found at-large in violation of this article shall be seized and impounded, or, at the discretion of the peace officer or animal control officer, the owner may be served a complaint to appear before a proper court to answer charges made therein. The owner shall pay all confinement and euthanasia expenses of a confined animal. In the event the animal control officer or peace officer cannot catch the animal without exposing the officer and/or citizens to danger or personal injury the animal may be destroyed.
