§ 30-26. Dead or diseased tree removal.

  • The city shall have the right to cause the removal of any dead or diseased tree on private property within the city, when the tree constitutes a hazard to life and property or harbors insects or disease which constitute a potential threat to other trees within the city. The board will notify in writing the property owner of the property where the tree is located. Removal shall be done by the owner at the owner's expense within 20 days after the date of the notice. In the event of failure of the owner to comply with the notice, the city shall have the authority to remove the tree and assess the cost to the property owner.
