§ 28-443. Sanitary disposal required.

  • All solid waste generated or produced within the city shall be disposed of at a sanitary disposal project designated by the city and licensed by the state department of natural resources. It shall be the duty of each owner of property within the city to provide for the sanitary disposal of all solid waste accumulating on the owner's premises before it becomes a nuisance. All solid waste must be removed from dwellings at least once a week and from commercial establishments, churches and schools as frequently as the council by resolution may require. Any accumulation of solid waste remaining on any premises for a period of more than 15 days shall be deemed a nuisance and the city may proceed to abate the nuisance in accordance with provisions of this Code or state law.
