§ 28-388. Meters inspected.

Latest version.
  • Electric meters shall be inspected whenever directed by the committee or whenever the superintendent believes that any meter is not registering correctly. If any consumer of electric current believes that the consumer's meter is not accurate, upon notifying the inspector of alleged inaccuracy, the consumer may request that the electric meter be tested. If the test indicates that the meter is accurate or that the meter registers less than the amount of electric current actually passing through the meter, the consumer who requested the test shall pay to the city the costs and reasonable expenses incurred in the test. Should the test indicate that the meter registers more than the amount of electric current actually passing through the meter the consumer shall be entitled to a readjustment of the consumer's bills for electric current, for the past three months on the basis of over registration, and the city shall bear the costs and expenses incurred in the test.
