§ 16-52. Investigation.

  • Upon receipt of an original application for a liquor license, wine or beer permit by the clerk, the council may forward it to a peace officer to conduct an investigation and submit a written report as to the truth of the facts averred in the application and a recommendation to the council as to the approval of the license or permit. At the request of the council, the fire chief may be asked to inspect the premises to determine if they conform to the requirements of the city. If such investigations are requested, no license or permit shall be approved until or unless the requested reports have been filed with the council.
